Investigating what the word “Home” (“Uma” in the Tetunlanguage of Timor-Leste) signifies, students from Geelong Viqueque Friendship Schools, in collaboration with the people of Timor Leste, have created diverse and beautiful images of “home” in a new exhibition.

Uma/Home presents photographic images exploring concepts of home as a location, a state of mind, a feeling or a place of belonging. Subject matter ranges from ocean views to domestic pets, bedrooms and buildings as well as home as the place where one is with family,

Also on display are a collection of Tais, the handwoven traditional textiles of Timor Leste.
